As most doctors will tell you, keeping yourself in shape as you get older is the best way to stay healthy. To stay fit, you might consider a new installation of tennis, pickleball, volleyball, or basketball court on your property. At Taylor Tennis Courts, we’re proud to have some of the best California court builders on our team.

Making it a priority to be active every day can add years to your life. In an ideal world, everyone would have time each day for our favorite sports – a tennis match with the neighbor, a quick round of golf, a game of H-O-R-S-E in the backyard… Unfortunately, we don’t always have room in our schedules for leisure activities.

When you can’t make it out to the court on a busy day, here are a couple of great stationary exercises you can do while seated at your desk between meetings, or even during a conference call.

Leg Lifts
For this exercise, simply hold onto the edge of your chair while extending one leg until it’s parallel to the floor. Hold for a few seconds, and then slowly bend the leg back down. Repeat with your other leg and alternate this movement 20 to 30 times, or as long as it’s comfortable.

Seated Russian Twist
First, lift your feet slightly off the ground. Then gently twist your upper body to the left while maintaining an upright position and keeping your hips facing forward. Try to touch the left side of your chair with your right hand, but don’t overextend yourself. Then slowly move back to the center and repeat the movement on your right side. You can do this a dozen times, or more if you like.

A little bit of physical activity is always better than none. These simple exercises will help keep you fit and ready for your next court game. If you’re ready to elevate your health and fitness, get in touch with some of the best California court builders right here at Taylor Tennis Courts.
